If your business isn’t verified on Google, you’re mostly invisible. You can’t reply to reviews, edit your hours, or show up properly in Maps. Plenty of business owners get stuck at the last step, staring at a postcard that never arrives or a code that won’t work.
Our GMB verification services take that problem off your plate. We handle first-time verification, failed attempts, suspended profiles and multi-location rollouts. This page explains how verification works, why it fails, and what we do to fix it.
What Are GMB Verification Services?
GMB verification services help businesses prove to Google that they own or manage a real location, so their Business Profile can go live and appear in Search and Maps. GMB stands for Google My Business, the old name for what Google now calls Google Business Profile. Most people still search with the old term, so we use both.
A verification service typically covers four things:
- Choosing the right verification method for your business type
- Preparing your profile so it passes Google’s checks
- Fixing failed, delayed or rejected attempts
- Managing business listing verification across many locations
You can verify a profile yourself, and many owners do. A service makes sense when you’ve already failed once, when you run several locations, or when you simply don’t have time to chase it.
Why Google Business Listing Verification Matters
Verification tells Google your business is real. Once it’s done, you get access to the tools that actually move the needle:
- Your profile appears in local search results and Google Maps
- You can respond to reviews and questions
- You can post updates, offers and photos
- You can view performance data like calls, direction requests and website clicks
- You control your information, so nobody else can claim your listing
Unverified listings can sit in limbo for months. Worse, a competitor or a random user can suggest edits that stick.
Google My Business Verification Methods Explained
Google decides which options you see, and not every business gets every method. Here are the ones you’re likely to meet.
Google My Business Verification Postcard
The postcard is the classic method. Google mails a card to the address on your profile with a code printed on it. According to Google, it usually arrives within about five days, though it can take up to two weeks in some regions.
The postcard is the method most people struggle with. It goes to the wrong suite, gets thrown out as junk mail, or never shows up because the address was typed slightly differently. Don’t keep requesting new ones. Each new request can invalidate the previous code, and you end up holding a card that no longer works.
Phone or Text Verification
Some businesses see an option to receive the code by phone call or SMS. It’s the fastest route, since the code arrives in seconds. If you see it, use it.
Email Verification
A few profiles can verify by email. Google sends the code to the address it lists as eligible, and you enter it in your profile.
Video Verification
When Google can’t confirm your business through the standard options, it may ask for a short video. You’d record a continuous clip showing your storefront or work area, signage, equipment, and proof you manage the business, such as a business license or a work vehicle with branding. Service-area businesses see this method often.
Instant Verification
If your website is already verified in Google Search Console, your profile may verify instantly. It doesn’t apply to everyone, but it’s worth checking before you order a postcard.
How to Enter Your Google My Business Verification Code
Once you have your code, whether it came from a postcard, a text or an email, the process is short.
- Sign in to the Google account that manages the profile.
- Search for your business name on Google, or open Google Maps and select your business.
- Click “Verify now” or “Get verified.”
- Type the five-digit code exactly as shown.
- Submit it and wait for the confirmation message.
A Google verify my business code is valid for 30 days. If it expires, you’ll need to request another one. Make sure you’re signed in to the same account that requested it. A lot of “invalid code” errors come from people using a different Google login.
Why Your Google Business Verification Fails
Failed verification is rarely random. These are the usual causes, based on what we see most often:
Address problems. The address doesn’t match your website, your signage or public records. A missing suite number is enough to send a postcard to the wrong desk.
Business name mismatches. Keyword-stuffed names like “Best Cheap Plumber Delhi 24/7” trigger Google’s spam filters. Use your real, legal name.
Service-area confusion. If you work at customer locations and don’t have a storefront, your profile setup needs to reflect that. Listing a home address publicly when you don’t serve customers there can cause problems.
Shared or virtual addresses. Coworking spaces, mailbox services and virtual offices are frequently flagged, and many are ineligible.
Suspended profiles. If Google suspended your listing, you often can’t verify until the suspension is resolved. That means submitting a reinstatement request first.
Repeated requests. Ordering multiple postcards or codes in a short time can lock you out of new attempts for a while.
Our GMB Verification Services
Here’s what we actually do when you hire us.
1. Profile Audit
We check your business name, category, address, phone number and website for anything that could trigger a rejection. Small fixes made before you submit are much cheaper than fixes made after a failure.
2. Method Selection and Submission
We work out which verification route gives you the best chance and submit it correctly the first time. If a postcard is your only option, we make sure the address formatting is right so it reaches you.
3. Failed Verification Recovery
Already stuck? We diagnose why your postcard, code or video didn’t work, correct the underlying issue and resubmit. For video requests, we prepare a shot list so your recording covers everything Google wants to see.
4. Suspension and Reinstatement Support
If your profile was suspended, we review what likely caused it, gather supporting documents and file a reinstatement request.
5. Bulk Verification for Multiple Locations
Bulk verification Google My Business is designed for chains and franchises. Google generally offers it to businesses with ten or more locations, and it lets you verify them together instead of one postcard at a time. We prepare the location spreadsheet, submit the request and follow up until every location is live.
6. Post-Verification Setup
Once you’re verified, we can help you fill out your profile completely: categories, services, hours, photos, attributes and a first round of posts. A verified but empty profile doesn’t rank.
Business Listing Verification Beyond Google
Google is the priority, but your business listing verification shouldn’t stop there. Consistent details across Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Yelp and industry directories help search engines and AI assistants trust that you exist. When your name, address and phone number match everywhere, Google has more confidence in your profile and fewer reasons to question it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I verify my business on Google?
